Winter Poultry Insulation Measures

一: Construction and maintenance of poultry houses

- Inspection and repair: Before winter comes, check the poultry houses comprehensively, repair the holes and gaps in the roof and walls, and prevent cold wind from invading.

- Strengthen insulation: Add insulation materials such as polystyrene foam boards to the top and walls of the poultry houses to reduce the rate of heat loss.

- Control humidity: Keep the house dry, clean up feces and wet bedding in time, and lay dry sawdust, rice husks and other moisture-absorbing bedding, and use dehumidification equipment when necessary.

二:: Heating facilities

- Heating system: Use hot air furnaces, heaters and other equipment to send hot air into the poultry house through pipes, or use hot water pipes, heat sinks and other equipment to provide a warm environment.

- Insulation lamps: Use infrared insulation lamps and other equipment to provide local warm areas during the brooding stage, and adjust the height according to the age and temperature requirements of the poultry.

- Heating pads: Lay heating pads on the ground of the poultry house or in the brooding box for poultry to lie down and keep warm, especially for young chicks.

三: Daily management measures

- Reasonable density: Adjust the stocking density according to the poultry breed, age, weight, etc. to avoid crowding affecting heat preservation and growth.

- Ventilation: Under the premise of ensuring the temperature, reasonable ventilation can be carried out. Ventilation equipment can be installed to ventilate regularly to prevent drafts.

- Nutritional regulation: In winter, the energy level of feed can be appropriately increased, such as increasing the content of corn, oil, etc., and vitamin C, vitamin E, etc. can also be supplemented to enhance cold resistance

- Drinking water management: Provide warm water for poultry to prevent drinking ice water from causing body heat loss and gastrointestinal diseases, change drinking water frequently, and keep it clean.
