Common poultry diseases and control measures

Escherichia coli disease

Escherichia coli disease in broilers is a type of disease caused by certain serotypes of Escherichia coli, and has become one of the main infectious diseases that endanger the poultry industry. Especially in the hot season, poultry is very prone to outbreaks of this disease due to the deterioration of environmental, feed, and drinking water hygiene.

Clinical manifestations are: mental depression, loss of appetite, difficulty breathing, yellow-green or yellow-white feces, and sporadic deaths. The most typical lesions are perihepatitis, pericarditis, ascites, and peritonitis

Preventive measures: environmental disinfection, strengthening air circulation, preventing pollution of feed and drinking water, improving immunity, and reducing some stress factors caused by climate change. Add drugs that can kill and inhibit Escherichia coli to feed or drinking water.

Treatment method: Add drugs to feed or drinking water, such as oxytetracycline, norfloxacin, etc. Poultry can also be injected with Repsin Escherichia coli Kang. For each chick under 15 days old, 1 ml should be injected. For each chick over 15 days old, 2 ml should be injected. Repeat the injection on the second day. For adult poultry, 0.5 ml/kg body weight should be injected once a day. For seriously ill poultry, use 2-3 times in a row.

White diarrhea disease

It is a common disease in chicks and a bacterial infectious disease. Once it occurs, it may lead to a higher mortality rate. This disease is common in poultry born 15 days old. It is extremely harmful and can cause large-scale deaths of poultry.

Preventive measures: Add diarrhea prevention and treatment drugs to the feed in a certain proportion on the second day after the poultry is born. It is not advisable to add too much, which will be counterproductive. As the poultry grows up day by day, gradually increase the dosage after one week, and add sulfonamide to the feed. The proportion is preferably 0.2%.

Coccidiosis

Coccidioides is a common disease that endangers the lives of poultry. The incidence of the disease is much higher than that of common diseases, and the impact range is very wide. Usually, poultry with this disease will die within a month, causing economic losses to farmers. The specific manifestations of coccidiosis are a sharp decrease in poultry food intake, listlessness, and loose feces.

Preventive measures: First of all, the poultry breeding environment should be cleaned and disinfected to keep the environment clean. Chicks should be vaccinated 7 days after birth and prevented for 30 to 50 days, which can improve the vaccine's preventive function. Promote the use of various drugs in scientific proportions, and add anti-epidemic drugs such as chlortetracycline and oxytetracycline to animal feed to achieve the purpose of epidemic prevention.
